Skylar Weisenborn is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) and an Associate Clinician at the Cincinnati Anxiety Center who is dedicated to integrating the best of psychological science with a compassionate approach that recognizes the values and strengths of each individual she works with. From there, she taught Psychology and English as a second language at a small university for women in Honduras, worked in a shelter for survivors of sex and labor trafficking in Thessaloniki, Greece, and worked for two years at an adult in-patient psychiatric facility here in Cincinnati. She went on to obtain her Master of Social Work degree with a Clinical Global Practice Concentration and a certificate in Trauma Studies from Boston College where she again graduated first in her class. Her first-year graduate internship was spent as a case manager working with the homeless population for FamilyAid Boston. Her second-year graduate internship was spent on the island of Lesvos, Greece, where she worked in a shelter for unaccompanied refugee minors fleeing war and terrorism in the Middle East. There she helped train and collaborate with local staff in providing best practices for acute trauma survivors. Since then, Skylar has spent the past four years working with students K-12 as a school-based mental and behavioral health therapist here in Cincinnati.
