Hi! My name is Shochet, pronounced "sho-shay", and that name has been in my family a long time. I live in Colorado, north of Denver. I have licenses in addiction counseling as well as in professional counseling,

I have been a therapist for 12 years and am highly trained in the following therapeutic skills: EMDR, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Positive Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Somatic Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Although my specialties are in trauma and addictions work, I have also provided counseling to a wide variety of clients who had issues with: depression, anxiety, chronic pain, grief, loneliness, social anxiety, PTSD, relationship concerns, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, and self-confidence / self-esteem problems.

I trust that the answers to your problems are already within you, and all healing comes out of your strengths. This is the starting point for our work together and how we will get your goals met. My philosophy is that you are driving the car and I am just a passenger, sometimes providing direction, and always providing support, understanding, and honesty. My practice is trauma-informed with an extraordinary commitment to recovery, and the foundation of my practice is listening and building relationship.
