I am a State of Colorado licensed Mental Health provider and have been for nearly 30 years. I grew up in Michigan and attended Wayne State University achieving a BA in Psychology and a MSW . I have experience working in health care, hospice, schools, foster care and adoption, pregnancy services and stress management. Recently I've learned about an evidence-based trauma technique called Flash technique which was developed in 2018 by Philip Manfield, PhD, an established EMDR Clinician, Trainer and Consultant in the field of EMDR. I trained in EMDR several years ago but wasn’t using it much so I was excited when I heard about Dr Manfield’s work because with flash, the client does not activate the trauma or memory and some client have no memory of it. This made sense to me. I have had multiple trainings in Flash within the last year and plan on taking more as this evidence-based technique grows with more research & clinical discussions. Trauma or disturbing memories, such as abuse, accidents, school bullying can be successfully resolved in many people using Flash. I've seen clients transform instantly after doing just one 20 minute session of Flash. I use this technique in most sessions if my client is comfortable with it. Lastly, I have an affinity for working with young women between the ages of 19-40 who have had difficulty launching or moving forward in their lives. I am a mother and grandmother and I think this is what some of my clients appreciate.
