I have been working in the mental health field for over 15 years with a variety of experiences prior to that which helps me relate to my clients. I graduated with a Masters of education in 2006 from University of Puget Sound, in Tacoma Washington. I Hold a license in the state of Idaho and in Washington state. I have worked with a variety of clients, including those with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, panic, and I specialize in trauma. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the most important, helping people feel comfortable in the therapeutic process, allowing them the sense that they will be heard with empathy and non-judgment. I utilize several modalities, such as cognitive processing therapy and techniques supported by the international Association of trauma professionals. I also use CBT, mindfulness and relaxation, communication skills, I have some training regarding attachment disorder, and I enjoy working with couples. I also utilize internal family systems, the concept of parts which often times allows the client to free themselves from self judgment as they learn that they can increase their understanding of their self and allow for change. I strive for sessions to be lighthearted and humor is utilized as we move forward in gaining insight and allowing for a change. I bring energy with me as well as Hope, because I believe in you and I believe that I can help you. We will work to improve your current functionality, Letting go of the past.
