My services are relationship based and I use the creative process of art therapy to build coping skills to help manage life's challenges. I am trained in trauma treatment and enjoy all ages. I like to teach people how to use Non-Violent Communication to enhance relationships and I enjoy career counseling as well. I use a strength based human centered approach in my work. I believe that the healing power of an authentic, supportive, caring, human relationship is therapy is the foundation for counseling.
Art therapy is beneficial for most people, especially for verbalizing feelings or telling trauma stories that are often very difficult to tell. Art therapy is also good for people who prefer expressing themselves non-verbally. Gaining insight into self and struggles, as well as increased self-esteem are some of the many benefits gained. It's also okay if you aren't an artist or if you don't want to do art in counseling also, as I am trained in other counseling methods as well. I offer parent coaching and teach coping skills to people of all ages for the management of overwhelming emotions. I enjoy working with individuals as well. I am trained in parenting, grief, trauma, EMDR and I am currently attending Internal Family Systems training. I know how hard it can be when you are having difficulties and I believe that small changes can make big differences in your life.
