About
Are you looking for a therapist who genuinely listens & holds non-judgemental space for you? Hi, my name is Sheryl. As a compassionate, Trauma-Informed therapist, my first priority is to offer safety and authentic empathy. I believe the client-therapist relationship is at the forefront of good & effective therapy. I have nearly 10 years of experience helping individuals gain personal empowerment over anxiety, depression, & the pain of past trauma. I specialize in working with women who have experienced relational trauma, childhood adverse experiences, traumatic grief, sexual abuse, & sexual assault. Often pain or fear from the past, can pull us away from our true self, the life we want to live, and from people we most want to be connected to. I can help you navigate these difficult storms, while offering tools you can use for lifetime. You will have opportunities to gain new insight so that you can feel a sense of empowerment over the past & start living the life you deserve. I offer a collaborative, feedback based approach, building upon your strengths. Sessions consist of both talk therapy & experiential exercises; such as grounding tools, mindfulness, & relaxation skills to increase feelings of calm & being in the ‘Here and now’. I also utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to support new perspectives. I strongly believe working with different parts of self, & learning Self Compassion, can be very useful for achieving inner harmony for the many parts of self. This may include expressive arts or non-creative exercises, whichever you are most comfortable with. One of the greatest joys I’ve had as a therapist is witnessing my clients begin to thrive & reclaim their lives. I am here for the storm…and I am also here to celebrate your successes with you! Therapy can be hard work, but it can also be deeply meaningful & enjoyable. I would be honored to welcome you to therapy with me & walk alongside you on your journey of personal growth & healing.
