She has worked in a variety of therapeutic settings including residential facilities, mental health facilities, substance abuse facilities, and the prison population. Shenetra uses a Cognitive Behavior Treatment approach, Person-Centered, and Narrative Therapy with motivational interviewing to allow the client to identify past and present behaviors that have contributed to their dissatisfaction with life and work toward promoting growth and a healthy lifestyle. My approach Shenetra uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Person-Centered, and Motivational Interviewing most often in her approach to Therapy. My focus Shenetra has worked with substance abuse issues, anger management, domestic violence, mental health issues, grief and loss, couples counseling, and parenting issues. My communication style Shenetra likes to create a warm and trusting environment to allow for rapport building with clients that will aid in the process of disclosing information. Shenetra makes it comfortable and it feels like you’re talking to a friend. My journey to mental healthcare Always wanted to be in the helping field, what drives me is my biological father being an alcoholic and that is what initially interested me in helping others. My goals for you Shenetra allows the clients to list every therapeutic goal and then choose the one most prevalent that they would like to work on first to start. My first session with you Clients should expect for me to ask a lot of questions to gauge their background information to allow for the next sessions to go directly into counseling.
