Hello, I’m Shelly. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in Hawaii and California. The fact that you are looking for a counselor shows your strength and courage in taking the first step to living a healthier and happier you! When working with clients, I strive to make the therapy experience safe, respectful and genuine.

Everyone’s journey to personal resilience is unique and there is not a one size-fits-all solution. My approach is flexible, client-centered, solution-focused and strengths-based. My primary therapeutic approach is Solution Focused Brief Therapy and I incorporate mindfulness techniques as appropriate.

I have experience working with individuals, families and groups struggling with major life transitions, stressors, prenatal/postnatal adjustments, parenting challenges, anxiety, depression, military life struggles, relationship issues etc.

My counseling style is supportive, compassionate and interactive. I believe that the most important aspect of the counseling experience is finding someone you can connect with and feel safe enough with to share your story. I will support you in determining the change you wish to see and work together with you to create the steps to help you achieve your goals. We can begin with an initial consult to learn if our therapeutic relationship will be a good fit. Once that is decided, we can complete an intake and assessment to help determine the best way forward in your therapeutic journey.
