My name is Shelley Cohen and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been a psychotherapist for the past 33 years. I received my Bachelors degree at UCLA in Social Work and English and my Masters degree at USC.
I’d like to tell you a little bit about myself and my experience and how I hope to be helpful to you.
I have been in private practice for the last 27 years in addition to working as a consultant in various corporate settings where I specialized in mediation, organizational development, advocacy, wellness, education, conflict resolution, individual counselling as well as couple and family counseling.
My goal is to provide a safe place where we can explore together exactly what is causing or adding to your discomfort. I hope to help my clients during challenging times as well as toward the desire to pursue self growth and support. I use psychodynamic counselling as well as EMDR, hypnotherapy and cognitive behavioral therapy and sometimes short term problem solving therapy if that is desired. I have a specialty in working with addiction, depression and anxiety as well as phase of life, grief, loss and work related issues. In addition, i have a special knowledge in the field of entertainment and work with clients who are exploring issues around maximizing their zones for creativity and performance.

I am straight forward, honest and direct and find mutual engagement helpful to a speedier resolution. I hope to make you feel that you are not alone with your issues and concerns.
