About

Hello. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and have a perinatal mental health certification (PMH-C). My passion is in improving reproductive health and well-being. My therapeutic approach is grounded in behavioral principles, mindfulness, self-compassion, stress reduction, and relational well-being. When working with women and individuals within the context of reproductive events, I combine a mindful-based approach with the latest research findings to help individuals cultivate a grounded, more cohesive way of living. I also use a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to help individuals challenge harmful cognitions and thinking patterns, better regulate their emotional health, and align their habits/behaviors with their values. I place an underlying emphasis on growing present-moment awareness, psychological flexibility (the ability the flexibly adapt to changes), and social support.

I have over seven years of experience working with individuals and families in hospitals, community mental health, residential facilities, and within homes. Specifically, I've spent the last three years working with pregnant and postpartum individuals, some of which struggle with postpartum depression (PPD) and postpartum anxiety (PPA). Further, I have worked with individuals who experience difficulties related to fertility, miscarriages, maternal-fetal/maternal-infant attachment, and the transition to parenthood.

I received my master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of Southern California (USC). Currently, I am working toward a PhD in Clinical Psychology focusing on perinatal health and mindfulness-based treatment for pregnant individuals who are at-risk for PPD.

Areas of focus: perinatal mental health; postpartum depression and/or anxiety; women's health; fertility; miscarriage; fetal and infant attachment
