I have been working as a clinical social worker for ten years, mainly within the medical field. I loved working in health care, and I’ve been able to work with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences. I graduated with my master’s in social work from Columbia University and, until recently, worked at significant city hospitals in Boston and New York City. I am currently working in an Intensive Outpatient Program in rural North Carolina. I served in the Peace Corps in St Kitts and Nevis and have a bachelor’s degree in fine art photography. I use a myriad of therapeutic tactics – depending on what people need. I cut my teeth working with people in some of their most vulnerable moments and have found our core of resilience is a solid center to build on. My philosophy is grounded in strengths-based assessments; I’m well practiced with motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy. Life is hard, and my goal with therapy is to make it more endurable/manageable and hopefully enjoyable. I look forward to working with you!
