About
Shayna Friedman completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and is a graduate of the Family Counseling Program at Northeastern Illinois University. She has been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), Associate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (ALMFT), and Certified Telemental Health Professional (CTMH) since 2021. Shayna has counseling experience in mental and emotional health working with a variety of populations, including children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families in a private practice setting. She feels passionate about working with children and their families to help them overcome challenges they are facing and providing them with the support they need, working with adults and couples to help them navigate their relationships better by building communication and relational skills, and helping individuals heal and process through relational trauma. Shayna works from a solution-focused, strengths-based, and collaborative therapeutic approach. Shayna’s approach to counseling involves setting clear goals at the beginning of treatment, and helping each client find the solutions that work best for them to create the positive change that they want to see in their life. As a counselor, Shayna’s mission is to implement a comfortable space, support, strength, and guidance for individuals, couples, and families to process through emotions and foster growth, as well as advocating for and providing a voice for children. Shayna believes that through fostering support, empowerment and healing, the life one wants to live is always possible. She looks forward to working with you and helping you find your voice.
