Shawn Eaton is a Social Worker located in Union Lake, MI. Shawn specializes in helping clients who have behavioral roadblocks that keep them from living comfortable, balanced lives. He gets to know clients’ backgrounds and stories throughout the first several sessions, as he learns what their goals are for therapy and what they believe their greatest challenge is. He then introduces cognitive behavioral strategies into sessions, teaching clients how to identify harmful thought patterns or behavioral triggers that cause them to feel out of control. He helps clients better understand their motivation for change and prepare themselves for major behavioral modifications to create a healthier life. Clients also learn helpful coping skills for moments of distress. Shawn earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from Wayne State University. He is a warm, respectful therapist who doesn’t believe in stigmatizing labels. He has close to a decade of experience in the mental health field and strives to help clients achieve their goals intentionally and with self-compassion.
