I have many years of experience in helping children and parents with dual diagnoses (developmental delays with comorbid mental health diagnoses) in a wide variety of settings. I believe in a collaborative approach to treatment and integrative models of care to help maximize an individual's potential. I join my clients on their journey to healing and recovery in a safe, non-judgmental environment. I specialize in working with parents of children with special needs that present with challenging behavioral issues, including autism spectrum disorders, oppositional defiant disorder, trauma and anxiety. I also have experience with treating ADHD, communication and social issues. Navigating many systems of care can present complex challenges for parents and contribute to anxiety and/or depression from adversity or barriers when trying to care for a child or children with special needs. Due to my background in social work, I also help to link families to other resources that may be needed to help stabilize functioning. I have completed additional coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis and have worked with children diagnosed with Autism as an ABA therapist in home and school settings, which provides me with a unique perspective when treating this population. I have also been trained in Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy for those impacted by trauma.
