There may come a time, that a gentle, caring, hand is needed to make life’s journey more enjoyable, comfortable and manageable. My hope is to help my client’s in their life journey.

Every person is different, and your counseling experience will be tailored to meet your needs and goals. My approach to counseling is individualized and focuses on the client’s strengths. I believe in a hands-on, client-centered approach to assist clients in developing new coping skills and to promote personal growth. Counseling is a very personal relationship in which we allow others to see our vulnerability. I aim to meet my clients in those vulnerable places and offer them hope. I want each of my clients to understand that, although their journey may be difficult, they do not have to endure it alone. As a counselor, I want to empower my clients to fulfill their potential in becoming who they are meant to be. Understanding that everyone has a choice; we choose to accept things and we are also able to choose not to accept things. Within that power to choose, lies our power to change.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and Certified Perinatal Mental Health Counselor (PMH-C) , with a vast array of experience in providing care to adults, children, families and couples’ counseling. I have experience working with individuals with adjustment disorders, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, mood disorders, mind-body and spiritual issues, personality disorders, and trauma and stressor-related disorders. I am also a member of the Iowa Mental Health Counselors Association (IMHCA), American Mental Health Counseling Association (AMHCA).
