Hey there my name is Shanita and I'm a licensed clinical mental health counselor with over 5 years of experience in Charlotte, North Carolina. I attended Columbia College (SC) for my B.A. in Psychology and my M.Ed. in Counseling and Development from Winthrop University. I enjoy helping clients journey through the process of change with empathy in a nonjudgmental and relaxed environment. I use aspects of cognitive behavioral theory which focuses on how thoughts affect your feelings and behaviors.Some concerns I assist with include depression, anxiety, and thoughts and feelings related to trauma. I also enjoy assisting people work through LGBT topics, multicultural issues, low motivation, and thoughts of death. Wanting change is really hard and finding a good fit can be even more difficult.You're taking your first steps towards healthier you and I hope you're proud of that.
