About
My name is Sarah Ragan and I love podcasts, my dogs (two rescues-Bella and Sadie), reading, and spending time with my three active boys, ages 8, 8, and 7. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Wisconsin. I have worked in a clinical outpatient setting for the last five years. Before that I was a therapist for Human Services and have experience in case management, as well. Prior to being a counselor, I taught grades K-12 as a reading specialist in Durham, North Carolina for five years. During that time I realized I could make more of a difference in my student's lives from the counseling chair than from the whiteboard. My loves for teaching and counseling have combined to benefit you, the client, as I pull from my background to give you the best care possible.
My approach to therapy is warm and authentic. I believe in unconditional positive regard and work to create a space of honesty, healing, and safety. I believe in the idea of the Greek word "Parakaleo" which means "to come alongside". It is my goal, as a therapist, to walk along side of you through every step of your journey. Together we will use research based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Solutions Focused Therapy, along with a variety of other approaches that will be tailored to your specific situation and needs.
It takes a lot of courage and bravery to seek help and directions toward a happier and healthier person. I am excited to walk every step of the way with you as you become the person you want to be. I look forward to working with you!
Warmly,
Sarah
