Congratulations on taking the leap and exploring what it might be like to work with a counselor. Here's a little about me: I love helping women and men sort through their confusing, messy, and overwhelming thoughts and feelings to find clarity and direction for the next phase in their life. My goal is not to diagnose but to help you clear things up and give you the support you need to move forward with life. My counseling style is casual and friendly; think coffee-with-a-friend, not analyst with a clipboard:) I bring in skills primarily from DBT and ACT with some strategies from Solution-Focuses and CBT thrown in.
I have been a practicing professional counselor for almost five years and am licensed in Wisconsin. I've been married to my husband for almost 22 years and am a mom to three teenagers. We were a foster family for several years which was an incredibly rewarding, difficult, and eye-opening experience which pushed me to pursue my masters in counseling at Lakeland University at age 36. I'm an avid reader, runner and cyclist, and I love food (both cooking and eating!) I learned to swim a few years ago and finished Ironman Wisconsin twice; 2018 & 2019.
A lot of people feel alone and reaching out for help is tough. Please know that there are people out there ready and willing to listen and walk alongside you as you figure out the changes you need to make in order to live your best life.
