About
As a clinician, I believe in the healing power of the therapeutic relationship. I focus on developing a strong working alliance, highlighting clients’ strengths and unique abilities. In practice, I endeavor to provide culturally-responsive services, focusing not only on you as an individual client, but the family, community, and broader systems in which we live. I have experience working with clients across all life stages, including children, adolescents, emerging adults, and adults. I employ a developmental perspective in counseling and enjoy working with clients to deepen their understanding of themselves. I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ clients and enjoy supporting people in living their lives as their most authentic selves. I have worked with clients on issues related to anxiety, depression and other mood disorders, eating disorders, substance use, trauma, grief and loss, and other concerns. While I approach therapy from an interpersonal perspective, I infuse a variety of techniques into sessions, pulling from psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, and solution-focused traditions. With younger clients, I incorporate play and expressive arts therapeutic techniques. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from New York University in 2015. I completed my Master of Arts in School Counseling and Human Development at George Washington University in 2019, and am currently a doctoral candidate in Counseling Psychology at Western Michigan University. My research focuses on the multicultural competence of counselors in training.
