About

Sarah is a licensed clinical social worker who provides therapy to individuals across the lifespan, specializing in Trauma. Sarah has spent years working with individuals who have experienced domestic violence, sexual assaults, sexual abuse, and child abuse and neglect. Sarah is also dedicated to supporting LGBT+ individuals and parents of LGBT+ children in growing their understanding of how to lovingly support their child. Sarah understands how hard it can be to take the first step towards reaching out for help. Sarah has worked with individuals who have been hurt, both physically and mentally, by people that they loved and trusted. Some people lived with that pain for decades before reaching out for help. Some people didn't know where to turn for help, other's didn't want to think about what they had experienced and they certainly didn't want to talk about it. Some had tried to reach out for help before, but they were blamed for what happened to them or the way they feel. Some were told to "get over it" or "it wasn't that bad". They had heard these messages from friends, families, religious leaders, and even past therapists. Sarah is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and practices Trauma Informed Therapy. The effects of trauma can look like many other mental health diagnoses and people can often be misdiagnosed with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, or Oppositional Defiance Disorder, Generalized Anxiety, or Depression. Sarah practices with cultural humility and therefor is comfortable working with people from many different cultures and backgrounds. Sarah is passionate about equality and equity and works with marginalize and oppressed individuals.
