About
My name is Sarah Travis Buck and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I work collaboratively with my clients to help them become more self-aware and accepting so that they can realize their strengths, recognize what obstacles lie in their path, and take steps to make the changes they need to make. Together we will enquire into how you want to change your life, what it will take for you to make that happen, and what is blocking you. My approach I use a mindfulness-based cognitive therapy approach, in which I help people tap into strengths so that they can solve problems in their lives. I believe every person has a natural capacity for healing that once uncovered results in better mental and physical health. I believe it is critical to address the whole person so that mental, physical, and spiritual needs are met. My focus I work with teens and adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, chronic pain, chronic illness, and trauma. My goal is to provide counseling that promotes a higher quality of life. My hope is that my clients will find increased clarity regarding their values, needs, and goals; that they will recognize their own strengths and resiliency; that they will increase their skills for managing and reducing stress; and that they will make life changes that lead to greater well-being. My communication style I work in a warm, non-judgmental, accepting fashion. I try to help clients feel accepted and at ease so we can work together to solve their problems. My journey to mental healthcare I find working as a therapist meaningful and rewarding because I am continually amazed by the resilience of the human spirit. I am drawn to listen deeply to each story and use my compassion and intent presence to help people see ways to grow and change. My goals for you I focus my attention on what my clients identify as their most important goals to address.
