Dr. Sarah Barnes earned her PhD in Philosophy in Psychology and her Master’s degree from Northcentral University. Prior to beginning her PhD program, Dr. Barnes completed a two-year post-master’s program in Trauma.

Dr. Barnes worked with children and adolescents at an outpatient clinic, Dr. Barnes has also worked at a residential treatment facility with juvenile sexual offenders. Dr. Barnes has a background in working with adolescents, young adults, adults and she has experience in running groups. Dr. Barnes relies on both CBT and DBT based treatment modalities. Dr. Barnes offers therapy to school aged children, adults and families. She has a passion for healing others and seeing the growth that occurs throughout the therapy process.
Dr. Barnes believes that helping individuals make change requires more than focusing on their mental health and emotional well-being. She loves to step outside of the traditional therapy setting and help youth to connect with friends, family and activities that they enjoy which is also a crucial part of becoming healthy and happy.
When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her two children and her Yorkie, Stella. Growing up in Montana, she is a lover of all things outdoors.
