Hi There, I'm Sara! I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). I was licensed in 2018 and have been working in mental health for over 10 years! I am based in Los Angeles/Orange County California and working with clients statewide via telehealth. I have specialized experience working with culturally diverse adults struggling with various mental health conditions or those hoping for self-growth. I also help couples who want to develop deeper intimacy, increase emotional safety, and communicate more effectively with one another. My approach My personal approach to therapy is gentle, supportive yet direct and down to earth. I use EMDR, CBT, DBT/ACT, and attachment-based approaches to help build skills to feel better at the moment and help it stay that way. It's not easy working through shame, societal and cultural pressures, trauma, and pain on your own. I would love to connect and help you cultivate the safe space within, through which you can live out a values-based lifestyle and feel better. My focus My specialties are in helping individuals and couples 1) reduce perfectionism/self-criticism (particularly due to high-stress work environments), 2) heal from trauma, 3) set healthy boundaries, and 4) better manage women's health-related issues (if applicable), 5) identify and manage mental health disorders (if applicable), 6) improve quality of relationship(s). My communication style I'm relaxed and informal (sometimes a bit of humor helps us open up to deeper issues). I'll also challenge you to go deeper. I want to dig into the topics bringing you in instead of staying on the surface.
