About

Hello Lovelies!

I'm a clinician whose primary focus is to ensure her clients are safe, valued, and empowered. My goal is to help folks peel back the layers of their lives and encourage them to develop the tools they need to navigate whatever journey they are on. I come to Find A Therapist as a licensed clinical social worker and certified case manager. I graduated with my masters in social work from Loyola University Chicago in 2014 and a bachelor's in women and gender studies from San Francisco State University in 2012. Yes, I am a California native! While living in San Francisco, I interned at a domestic violence resource center and worked on its crisis line. In Illinois, I interned at two organizations focused on women's issues; one relating to women's employment and the other relating to women's housing. Following my masters program, I worked with a housing subsidy nonprofit, working exclusively with the chronically homeless who had a variety of co-occurring physical and mental health concerns. Currently, I work in a less clinical setting with people who have experienced traumatic brain injuries and/or have been diagnosed with HIV/AIDS. I am their advocate and work to ensure they have all the resources necessary to remain in their homes and out of nursing facilities.

My bread and butter is women's issues and my primary focus has been around trauma, specifically surrounding sexual assault and domestic violence. I am well-versed in intersectional feminist issues, along with issues related to sexuality and gender identity. Also, I am passionate about the use of art (however you define it) and companion animals in mental health treatment.

You are so courageous for coming here. It takes so much to not only realize you need support, but to seek it out. I respect the heck out of you for that. Please know, I am more than just a clinician. I am also someone with lived experience, someone who can relate to whatever issue you present. I am someone who engages in therapy and psychiatry for my own health, so I understand how daunting it can be. But know that I will be with you every step of the way. You and I are a team. I will challenge you. I will be your cheerleader. I will hear you.
