I have received my Bachelors degree from Messiah college graduating in December of 2005 and Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from Marshall University graduating in 2008. I have been providing counseling services for over the past 10 years. I have experience working in the community mental health setting with co-occuring disorders and Suboxone programs, a recovery house program, and in the psychiatric hospital setting with adults and geriatrics with various mental health problems and substance abuse disorders. The theoretical approaches I mostly utilize are CBT and Reality therapy; however, I use an eclectic approach to meet the client where s/he is at and according to what s/he responds best to including Christian counseling when appropriate to the client. I not only have the education in the counseling and psychology fields, but I also have personal experience with depression and anxiety, family members and friends with substance abuse and other addictions, marital problems that have been and are being resolved, as well as parenting issues that are an ongoing learning process.
