About
My philosophy is to "keep it simple". Because those who are in need of counseling are often so overwhelmed. I feel it is important to keep the therapeutic process streamlined and non-complicated. I provide a laid back and nonjudgmental environment with an eclectic approach to therapy. I work with each client to create a unique treatment plan to address each identified need with manageable therapeutic goals in a simplified yet supportive and flexible manner.
I have over 25 years of experience in the field working with clients ages 3 to 96 years old. The bulk of my work has been primarily with children and families doing individual therapy, group therapy, play therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, family work, parenting work and parent-child relationship therapy. Much of this work involves addressing symptoms related to ADHD, Adjustment, Depression, Anxiety, OCD and ODD in school, day/residential treatment settings and in my private practice. More recently, I have been working with adults in their 20’s through 50’s in my private practice on processing their feelings, exploring triggers and developing coping strategies to better manage symptoms of Anxiety, Depression, Trauma and Substance Use. I have completed over 60 training hours of EEG Neurofeedback therapy and have attended many in person as well as online workshops, classes and conferences to keep current on evidenced based treatment modalities and best practices in the field. A little about me. I am originally from Omaha Nebraska. I have traveled to many states and countries. I got my BA from Colby-Sawyer College and my MSW from Boston College. I am married, have two teen daughters and two dogs. We live in Maine and take in all four seasons by enjoying the outdoors spending time visiting local lakes, mountains and bays along the coast. I really enjoy playing tennis, volunteering and my guilty pleasure is watching Netflix and Youtube.
