My name is Samantha Pirnat I am an LPC in the state of New Jersey. I have over ten years of experience working with adults, adolescents, and families. I have a variety of experiences working in diverse settings including, mental health agencies, crisis centers, community outreach programs, domestic violence/rape crisis centers, an Eating Disorder treatment facility, and correctional settings. I have experience working with a variety of adversity; I have work with individuals who are living with severe and persistent mental health diagnoses, eating disorders, self-esteem-related issues, anxiety, and anger management. I believe counseling is most effective with a collaborative approach. I believe it is essential to meet the patient where they are. I utilize a combination of strengths-based, person-centered, and trauma-informed techniques in my therapeutic approach. In my experience, it is beneficial to assist the patient in identifying strengths that are inherent and to help them strengthen their identified strengths to make positive changes towards the goals identified. I focus on cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused therapies in my work. I value creativity and believe my ability to energetically think " outside the box" is an adaptive opportunity for understanding and growth.
