Sally Rader is a licensed clinical mental health counselor (LCMHC) and a licensed clinical addictions specialist (LCAS). She specializes in trauma work with adults. Sally has training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and is pursuing certification in this modality. It is an evidenced-based approach for trauma work for any age. Sally treats anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, bipolar disorders, other mood disorders, and dual disorders. She uses techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. She has 9 years of experience in the mental health field. Sally uses a client-centered approach to the therapeutic process to join with the client and facilitate change toward the client’s goals. Often a combination of new skills in handling negative thinking, distorted thinking, negative behavior patterns, and poor communication allow for progress and improved self-confidence. Anxiety and stress management skills are vital in making permanent change. Learning to balance self-care with the demands of life is also essential. Having a spiritual foundation to all therapeutic work is a key element of being able to move toward healing. Sally provides a safe and comfortable space for the building of relationships and the opportunity to heal and grow. With dual licenses in mental health and addictions, Sally is available to help with one or both types of disorders when necessary.
