Hi there! My name is Saira [she/they], and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with my own psychotherapy practice in Denver, CO. I earned my Bachelor's degree at Boston University, where I explored my interests in systems and mental health through research and direct service. This work motivated me to pursue training as a psychotherapist through a Master's degree in social work. I have since trained and practiced with clients from a wide range of backgrounds, in a variety of settings throughout the Greater Denver Area. My therapy practice is deeply grounded in evidence-based treatment practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. My specialties include anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief and loss, and ADHD/neurodiversity. I also work with folks around sexuality and gender identity development, racial identity development, and the impact of systemic inequity on individuals' mental health. Considering how systemic narratives impact self-perception and worldview is foundational to my approach. The messages we receive about the relationship between our identities and self worth - both implicitly and explicitly - deeply impact how we connect with ourselves and others. I have found this perspective to be especially helpful in addressing anxiety and hopelessness about the state of the world. There is (at least) just as much good in the world as there is bad, and history shows us we are in the midst of a thousands year old cycle.
