About
Once you book the appointment, Well Clinic will reach out to you to complete an enrollment call. Sometimes when I’m on a jog, I am caught spellbound by a flower that I pass. Often in those moments, I stop and inspect. I smell the flower and touch it. I soak in its intricacy. I take pictures of the flower from all angles, experimenting with different perspectives. Of course, the thing that sends us to seek therapy is rarely a beautiful flower but rather something painful, scary, frustrating, confusing, or sad. Regardless of the reason why you seek therapy, I see what we do in the room as a process of illuminating and discovering that which we easily run past. By focusing on a thought or feeling with curiosity and gentleness, we begin on a path towards understanding our needs and expressing ourselves authentically. The goal, as I see it, is to feel the full spectrum of emotions, to become the person we want to be, and to have meaningful and fulfilling relationships. At the heart of this, I believe, is the cultivation and nourishment of a wise self. As a therapist, I am warm, authentic, and deeply curious. The approach I take is collaborative and I take an active role in our dialogue. My background is in Gestalt therapy which focuses on increasing awareness of the connections between mind, body, emotions, and spirit. With greater attention to all parts of ourselves, we open ourselves up to more choices in our behaviors in decisions. Queer, feminist, and multicultural frameworks are also a cornerstone of the work that I do, as our health and well-being are strongly tied to the impacts of systems of oppression. I work with teens, adults, couples, and families on a broad range of concerns. Some clients come to me with racing minds, heavy hearts, environmental stress, or sexual trauma. Others have questions about dreams, non-monogamy, and family dynamics.
