About
I am a nationally board certified licensed clinical counselor and school counselor in Illinois. I specialize in children and families, and have worked in mental health since 2012. I have worked in a variety of settings such as inpatient behavioral health hospitals, community mental health centers and school based counseling. I have an extensive background working with children, adolescents, and families. I have worked with individuals with anxiety, depression, self-harm behaviors, ADHD, substance use, grief and loss, trauma, and executive functioning issues.
I believe in a collaborative approach to therapy, and am committed to my clients personal growth and success. During the therapeutic process, I work to meet my clients where they're at and to provide a safe place for them to feel comfortable to be their most authentic self. I provide a space for my clients to get what they need, as well as, empower them to find solutions for the issues that brought them into therapy. I incorporate a variety of treatment modalities and interventions to meet the needs of my clients. Some modalities I use are Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Person Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness Based Practices.
Knowledge is power and I love to share my wisdom with others! I supervise clinical interns working towards becoming future therapist and have been a collaborating author in weekly counseling newsletters, mental health blogs and news articles. In my free time I focus on my own self care by listening to music or audio books, crafting, yoga, watching Tiktoks, and spending time with my family.
