Hello. My name is Ruth. I've been a clinical social worker for 17 years, 13 of those years I have worked with veterans. I am a down to earth and approachable counselor. My ability to connect and relate with others is my super power. I often utilize Cognitive Behavioral, Mindfulness, Client Centered and Narrative therapy techniques in my counseling sessions. My favorite technique and what I speak most is human. I do not speak like a robot nor use ivy league vernacular during my counseling sessions. I am spiritual and find that I am guided during my counseling sessions with the purpose of helping others. Counseling is a journey, an often painful journey. If your stable, capable, and willing to partake in that journey, I commit to supporting you in finding ways you can make sense and cope with your experience.

I do work full time, have two magical children, and a super star husband that require my time and attention. I will respond as expeditiously as possible to messages, on the rare occasion it may take me a little bit longer to respond. If we are able to work with one another, flexibility with day and time of scheduled counseling sessions will be necessary. If you are in a mental health crisis, a counselor with more availability will be a better fit due to my time constraints. I sincerely appreciate and thank you for reading my profile.
