About

Greetings and Salutations,
My initial objective is to provide my client with some relief. My primary objective is to empower my client. Both processes begin with meeting the client where they are on their current life journey while building rapport with client-centered therapeutic techniques. I appreciate and respect that every client is different. As a result, we work as a team to collaborate on their dreams, goals, desires, and objectives as well as on the way, equipping them with the tools for autonomy and self-reliance. Initially, some clients may be unclear about these items. I use this as an opportunity for guidance and insight based on their personality and current situation. I utilize personal and professional experiences and proven therapeutic techniques like CBT, Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness and more as vehicles to get the client to their desired destinations and beyond.

My grandmother would say to me as a child, “you don’t choose a profession a profession chooses you.” While my grandmother wasn’t right about everything, (wouldn’t say that to her face), the human services field definitely choose me. In 1986 my high school had a human services concentration which I majored in, and I have been perfecting my craft ever since. The road to becoming a Licensed Professor Counselor was circuitous. This road has proven to be not only necessary but also priceless. I completed my graduate work in 2005. Since then I have worked in a dual diagnosis and inpatient substance abuse facilities. I counseled at-risk teens and their families while maintaining a private practice. These experiences had prepared me to provide services for our military and family members. I have been working as a Military Counselor for the past ten years not only in the United States but also abroad in Europe and Asia. I have successfully dealt with depression issues, relationship issues, grief issues, weight loss and management issues, communication issues, trauma issues, LGBT issues, adjustment issues, teen issues, sleep issues, substance abuse issues, and trauma-related issues. I am confident that my desire, skill set, experiences, and dedication will allow me to effectively assist you in accomplishing your goals, dreams, desires, and objectives.

When we start and finish this therapeutic relationship, you can count on me to be non-judgmental, reliable, honest, professional, responsive, humorous and totally dedicated to the counseling process.
Thanks in advance for choosing me.
