About
I have been a therapist for 14 years. I am biracial, Latina, a woman of color, and an immigrant from South America. I have worked with trauma survivors from different backgrounds, ages, races, incomes, languages, LGBTQ, war victims, homeless, schizophrenics, bipolar, refugees, and individuals of several different countries and belief systems. I have learned that an “Eternal Curiosity” is the most helpful tool to effectively serve our clients. I’ve learned also that clients of different cultures and countries appreciate having a clinician asking for their experience. “Their way to see the world.” I am trained in evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, (CBT) Parent-Child interaction Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Motivational interviewing, and Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT) with individuals, couples and families. I received my Masters of Arts in psychology from JFK University in 2009 and have been licensed since 2013.
