I received a Masters in Social work in 2008 from the School of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I have more than 13 years of experience working with a range of people experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, family conflict, and symptoms of severe, persistent mental illness (SPMI). Over the past 8 years I have worked at a Veteran’s Hospital as a member of a multi-disciplinary team consisting of nurses, social workers and a psychiatrist serving Veterans with chronic mental illness. I believe everyone can recover provided they create, or acquire and utilize skills for effective coping mechanisms for overall wellness.
Deciding to engage in therapy can be overwhelming. Finding a therapist whose personality and style is a good fit is important. I see you the client as the expert in your life with unique values, needs and experiences. I look forward to helping those to effectively pursue their values and explore what keeps them from being the best version of themselves.
