My name is Rocio Velasco, LCSW. I am passionate about my work with individuals and families. I believe in building trust within the therapist and client as the foundation in therapy. My approach is to support you in achieving your goals and able to work towards living the life you desire. My approach I have experience in utilizing the following therapeutic approaches: CBT, ACT, DBT, EMDR, and solution focused therapy. My focus I have experience in working with trauma, medical issues and chronic pain, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, gender identity and transition, foster youth and parenting and caregiver stress. My communication style I provide a warm empathetic environment in session that allows clients to express themselves freely and feel heard and respected. My journey to therapy I was first attracted to this work when I realized how empowering therapy was for individuals who had dealt with trauma and loss while I was doing volunteer work. My drive to doing this work is to help others achieve freedom from some of things that are burdensome and keeping them from living their best life. My goals for you I like to set goals at initiation of therapy and review frequently throughout our journey to evaluate if they need to be revised. My first session with you On the first session I like for us to get to know each other, answer any questions, and discuss how we will work together to achieve your goals.
