About
Hello! My name is Robin Inouye, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with California License #15119. The primary focus of my practice is on treating mood disorders such as depression and anxiety, including trauma resulting in PTSD, and helping those coping with stressful life transitions, including military lifestyle issues. Although I only treat adults at this time, I have extensive training and expertise in working with children of all ages. Hence, I can be a tremendous resource for assistance with general parenting and specific strategies you can utilize to ameliorate behavioral and mental health issues you are facing with your children. My approach The most common approaches I utilize in providing therapy include the following: Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness practices, military lifestyle issues, Psychodynamic, parenting practices and Family Systems. My focus The focus of my practice is on working with adults who are experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, PTSD, and those coping with stressful life transitions. I have 12 years of experience treating service members and their families around challenging military lifestyle issues such as deployment and multiple transitions. I am skilled at working with clients seeking assistance in a caregiver role, and parents who are struggling with general parenting issues and/or their children's emotional and/or behavioral problems. My communication style I believe that our work together must encompass both the building of a genuine, empathic and trusting relationship combined with the skillful application of clinical interventions that target your specific issues and stressors. I also believe that the practice of active listening including empathizing, normalizing and validating clients are essential building blocks for a successful therapeutic relationship.
