Hello and welcome to my page! My name is Robin Hewes and I live in Central Texas. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I have 15 years of experience in counseling and therapy related work. I have a BA in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin and an MEd in Professional Counseling from the University of St. Thomas in Houston.

Find A Therapist is an excellent platform to provide my services in a flexible way to many more people than I can reach through traditional practice. I love the idea of clients matching with therapists and having access to professional therapy without the restrictions and wait times of an office visit. I am available Monday-Friday and check messages several times a day. I try to reply as soon as possible, but always within 24 hours. I am also available for live sessions, video sessions and phone calls. Please check my schedule for more details. Please note that I never want a scheduling issue to be a deterrent so if you do not see a time that will work for you please message me and we will see if we can come up with a solution.

I also see clients in my private practice and employ various methods including traditional talk therapy and play therapy with children. I have a passion for working with individuals in life transition and am experienced working with an ethnically and economically diverse clientele. In addition to private practice, my professional experience includes school counseling, therapeutic group services for grief and loss programs and working with individuals involved in the criminal justice system and their families.

I rely on Solution-Focused and Narrative therapies as the main tenants of my practice. I believe in goal-oriented therapy where the client and counselor work in collaboration to reach the desired outcomes. Each client is an expert on their unique situation and my goal is to meet the client where their needs lie and help them develop solutions and identify strengths to make their experiences and stories more productive. Let's talk through your story and figure out where we can tweak things or look at it from a different angle or use some tools that you may already have to make a situation better. I find that when we look at the whole picture there are often signs everywhere that can lead us to a better outcome, they are just hard to find on your own at times.

And sometimes it just feels good to get things off your chest and out of your head without any fear of judgement. We all need a space like that. I am here for it.
