About
Hi there, I'm Robert! Hi, I am Robert Barron LMFT. I have been counseling for 19 years in varied positions from youth to elderly adults. I have served in the California Army National Guard (Infantry) and Active Duty Navy and Naval Reserves as an Aircrewman and followed service by providing counseling to military members and their families at Tripler Army Medical Center and Pearl Harbor Hickam. My passion is to empower clients, couples, and families to overcome challenges and strengthen relations. My approach Eclectic approach to treatment for individualized/couples/family needs - Strength-based, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems, and counseling services for clients in high-stress environments such as military/police/first responder/firefighting. My focus Individual, couples, and family counseling with clients from a variety of backgrounds - building - restoring - healing from past and current concerns to empower clients to overcome challenges. My communication style It is of high importance for me to create an emotionally safe counseling environment to address client/couple/family issues and concerns in a positive manner. Rapport building and trust being cornerstones of professional counseling. My journey to mental healthcare I raced motorcycles (motocross) for 5 years, served 11 years in Military service, drove a "big rig" to 48 States and Canada, dug ditches in the Desert, completed a lot of college homework as a Security Guard before completing my education and pursuing the counseling profession. My most important accomplishments are being a husband and father (married 35 years) and adult son working and in college. Serving others professionally through military and then being able to later provide counseling services to military members and their families is an honor - a passion to provide support to others - empowering others to reach their own goals and successes.
