Hello there!
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or LCSW with licenses in the states of Pennsylvania and Tennessee. I have worked with individuals to improve symptoms of depression and anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, insomnia and sleep disorders, chronic pain and health issues, impulse control, relationship conflicts, panic attacks, self harm and suicidal thinking and planning.
My approach has always been to offer evidence based practices and more brief term therapies. For reference I have helped many people with Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Insomnia and other sleep related disorders (CBT-I) and helped people make changes in their habits with Motivational Interviewing (MI). I also have worked with people with chronic health conditions using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). My most thorough training is in helping individuals with serious needs and risks with formal Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
If you want to address something specific and get better at it in 1-3 months, I think regardless of the issue, I could be comfortable helping you find improvements. For those looking for someone that messages frequently in between sessions, is not good at keeping their appointments, and wants to simply chat with no focus for as long as possible, well, you may not like my style. I always try to prioritize helping those with the greatest needs.
