About
First of all, I work well with anxiety and issues related to trauma. My training, life, and clinical experiences have all taught me that we are complex, dynamic/changing beings with unique abilities to reorganize and change. This process that is engineered in each of us is referred to as ""neuroplasticity."" My aim in clinical psychotherapy is that we listen and partner in this process in how to best harness and use these abilities for an ongoing understanding of how to develop and make better use of our abilities. As for my formal education, I graduated from Loyola University of Chicago (an accepted scientist-practitioner model of education), graduating with a Ph.D. in Psychology, and completed a clinical internship at Hines V.A. Hospital with rotations in neuropsychology, spinal cord injury, pain management, and general outpatient psychological services. I then completed post-doctoral studies in neuropsychology, followed by extensive and ongoing training in various Neurotherapy applications including different forms of neurofeedback, as well as different forms of stimulation therapies for improved function. I have found it challenging and rewarding to creatively adapt these techniques for use in teletherapy models, coupled with cognitive and emotional approaches. I have experience practicing in a wide variety of settings.
