About

I am Renee Williams, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. My approach to therapy is primarily Cognitive Behavioral in nature. I also access many tools from other forms of therapy, depending on the client's needs. My approach I prefer a client-centered and strength-based approach to therapy. My main goal is to build a rapport with my client and see how I can help meet the client's life goals. I am a great motivator and believe strongly that everyone can achieve their true potential in life, given the proper tools and guidance. My focus I generally work with adults, couples, and families. I am most comfortable treating depression, anxiety, and self-esteem issues. I place a lot of emphasis on healthy communication. Additionally, I also utilize a lot of life coaching techniques to better promote the client's well-being. My communication style My communication style is friendly, supportive, and comforting. I provide a safe/non-judgmental environment where my clients can express themselves openly. When necessary, I may confront maladaptive behaviors a client is engaging in. This is done with care, love, and purpose. My journey to therapy Since I was a child, I have always been interested in helping people solve relational problems. I would read "Dear Abby" in the newspaper daily and became fascinated with the questions and responses that were provided. I knew then that this would be a career I could thrive in, and make a positive impact in people's lives. My goals for you After assessing a client, I ask the client what goals they would like to work on. I like to focus on a holistic approach to healing, meaning improvement in all areas of life. I encourage clients to map out a vision board to guide them to their purposed-life. My first session with you The client should expect to be heard in a compassionate arena. I am an excellent listener and often use reflective listening to ensure that I am fully understanding my client's perspective.
