Welcome!  My name is Rebecca Babener, I am a licensed professional counselor and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor with 12 years of counseling experience. Counseling to me is a collaborative process.  I am a proactive and strength based counselor who provides you with both support and challenge as well as guidance and concrete ideas to help you achieve change.

Since obtaining my Master’s degree I have worked in multiple professional settings as both a counselor and a supervisor including outpatient, intensive outpatient, private practice and inpatient care.  I have experience in working with adult individuals with co-occurring disorders (both mental health and addiction concerns).  I have experience in working with individuals with a variety of mental health concerns including PTSD (and other trauma related concerns) depression, bipolar disorder and anxiety. Additionally, I have worked with many individuals going through difficult life transitions or relationship conflicts I am experienced in individual therapy, crisis management intervention, couples and family therapy/case management.  I am well versed and knowledgeable in diagnosis, treatment planning and clinical assessment.  

My approach to counseling is tailored to the individual or couple I am working with. I primarily use evidence based techniques including cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical-behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused counseling.
