About
I received my Master's of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Brooklyn College in NYC. Shortly thereafter I relocated to the lovely state of North Carolina, where I began building my career as a therapist. I have worked in many different capacities, from substance abuse treatment in a methadone clinic to working with intellectually disabled/ASD adults and everything in between. I love to work with individuals who are looking to gain insight into themselves and improve their quality of life. I seek to understand each individual holistically, including their backgrounds and the strengths they already possess to provide an individualized approach. I believe that establishing a strong alliance with my clients is essential to getting the most out of therapy and creating lasting change. Through this alliance, I partner with my clients to explore and address thought and behavior patterns that serve as barriers to enjoying life fully. I frequently utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques as well as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy techniques, however I am a strong believer in picking and choosing the approaches I believe best fit the individual clients. I find an eclectic and flexible approach fosters progress and engagement in therapy, as well as helps to solidify a strong working alliance between myself and my client. There is no issue too small or too large for us to overcome if we work together!
