About

Hi there, I'm Rakhi! Hi I am Rakhi, therapist at Path Mental Health. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Therapist (LCPC) and Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist (BC-DMT). I have more than 10 years of experience helping individuals harness their potential to move towards their desired goals, facilitating change and healing. My approach I use client centered approach, focusing on empathy, open mindedness and unconditional positive regard. I also incorporate Dialectic Behaviors Therapy (DBT), to improve insight, resilience, mindfulness and emotional regulation. I do psychosomatic work to strength mind body connection. My focus My experience include working with clients of all ages who have anxiety, depression and PTSD. I have worked with individuals to improve motivation, attention and identify coping mechanism to manage with daily stressors. My communication style I encourage open communication and self expression. By active listening and unconditional positive regard, I provide open space for client to build trust, increase insight, explore strengths and challenges. My journey to therapy As a child I had experienced trauma and anxiety. Growing up mental health was never discussed and thus I never had any support. As an adult I decided to pursue education in psychology and become a mental health professional. I liked learning and understanding about human behavior and was passionate to help others who are dealing with mental health issues. I pursued a graduate degree at Columbia College Chicago to further my skills, knowledge and grow as a mental health professional. My goals for you I collaborate with clients to identify treatment goals. I encourage open discussion to create attainable goals. Goals are developed considering triggers, symptoms, unhealthy behavior patterns as well as thought process.
