About

My name is Rachel McDonald and I am a board certified Licensed Mental Health Counselor, practicing as an Executive Director, a therapist and wellness coach in Texas. I have been working in the mental health industry just under a decade. I have served clients in a variety of different roles from in-patient psychiatric care to in-home visits to private practice. I have a passion for helping people and tend to approach therapy from an open, honest, goal-directed position.

I have a double bachelor’s degree in Literary studies and Psychology and a master’s level education from Southern Methodist University in the Science of Counseling Psychology and I obtained a Holistic Wellness Certification from SW Institute of Healing Arts. I take a mind-body approach to therapy and I work with clients to create a tailored treatment plan that can be integrated into daily living.

Outside of private practice, I am the Executive Director of a partial hospitalization program for children and adolescents. I have experience treating children, adolescents, and adults with diverse backgrounds and ranges of concerns. I have training in family therapy, mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, and solution-focused therapy.
