About
I am grateful that you have made the decision to begin counseling. I believe that counseling is an integral part of self-care. I believe counseling is important whether you are suffering from traumatic events or just need support during a life change. I am passionate about helping people thrive and live their best life.
I am a compassionate counselor who loves to help my clients feel empowered. I have a Master of Science in Professional Counseling as well as a Masters of Science in Addiction Counseling. I also have two independent licenses which are Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor (LISAC). I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) which is used to process traumatic events. I also have a certificate as a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist-Trauma and Addiction. I have had the privilege of working in multiple areas such as treatment centers for substance use disorders, community mental health, in-home counseling, and private practice.
I provide client-centered therapy and encourage my clients to set goals and work towards accomplishing these goals. I often introduce two-part system I call “Take action and heal the roots.” This means that I help clients identify root causes of what they might be struggling with as well as identifying skills to practice on a daily basis. I believe for some, processing the past is important, but I also believe it’s important for clients to walk away from the session with an action they can take in real-time.
I know starting something new can be overwhelming at times. However, with support and putting in the work, the healing can begin.
It’s time to stop surviving and start THRIVING!
