I’ve been in the social work field since 2011 and have witnessed firsthand the many ways life can be challenging. I have degrees from George Mason University and Old Dominion University and I have been in private practice serving the Northern Virginia and surrounding areas for many years. But that doesn’t tell you anything about me. Here are a few more descriptive words. Strong, victorious and resilient: I worked hard to face life’s challenges and overcome my failures. Burgeoning writer: preparing and publishing my first book has been the greatest challenge and joy of my life. Nature lover: the beauty of Virginia heals, inspires, and calls to me and I take up the call with hiking and road trips. Trauma specialist: I determined to use my experience to help others through years of training in trauma and sensorimotor psychotherapy. I can be described as informed. My practice is interwoven with psychoeducational information, skills and techniques to help my clients do more than process and understand their trauma. I work on hard skills to help you find your path and stay on track to success and wellbeing in however you want to define that state. Most importantly I am inclusive. My policy in therapy is “nothing about me without me.” We work together, but you determine the direction of your journey.
