I believe that everyone has strengths that have helped them cope with many life challenges. And I know that we all experience times when life’s stressors can become overwhelming and we can struggle to cope. My passion is to partner with people to help them tap into the strengths they already have and also develop new strategies to cope with challenging situations. I tailor my counseling to the unique needs of every individual and use a range of therapeutic approaches, including cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, mindfulness, and self-compassion. My goal is to partner with people and walk beside them as they discover their own path that leads them to live a life full of wellness, personal growth, joy, and meaning. My educational background includes a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (Bradley University, Peoria IL) and a MA in Human Services with a concentration in Substance Abuse (the University of Illinois at Springfield, Springfield IL). I am a nationally certified Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Certified Alcohol/Other Drug Counselor. I have 15 years of experience working with adults and families in inpatient and outpatient settings. My area of expertise includes substance use, anxiety, panic disorder, stress management, depression, anger management, chronic illness, grief and loss, and life adjustment issues.
