About

I have worked in the Human Service field since 1983 and I became a licensed counselor in 2001. My goal is to provide an open, supportive, confidential environment so that my clients may address any issues that concern them and to help them take control of their destiny.

I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, Domestic violence, ADHD, and trauma. I also have experience working with military, first responders and medical personnel.

My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, person centered, psychodynamic and rational-emotive counseling. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

I believe that as a therapist it is my job to help you discover your potential and the issues that are holding you back. I pride myself on having an old-fashioned, "homelike" atmosphere in my “office”. Life is stressful - your visit to your therapist shouldn't be.

Are you thinking of returning to school? Not sure what you should be focusing on? I am a retired college professor and would be happy to explore this with you. Not sure how you can afford to go to school? We can discuss options that may be available to you to.

It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!
